Direct Second Year B.Pharmacy
Students who wish to pursue higher education in pharmacy can take admission in Direct Second Year B.Pharmacy after completing Diploma in Pharmacy. This is a 3-year programme for lateral entry students who have already completed D.Pharm and wish to progress directly into the second year of the B.Pharm degree.

Scholarship Facilities for D.Pharmacy & B.Pharmacy Students in Maharashtra
D.Pharmacy and B.Pharmacy students in Maharashtra can avail themselves of various Government scholarships, freeships and fee-reimbursement schemes, primarily through the MahaDBT (Aaple Sarkar DBT) Portal. Eligibility depends on the student's category, family income, domicile, admission route, and other conditions.

1. OBC Scholarship
For eligible OBC students pursuing professional courses, the MahaDBT scheme provides reimbursement of tuition and examination fees subject to the applicable rules. The current scheme also provides 100% tuition and examination fee benefit for eligible OBC girls under the applicable Government Resolution.
For OBC girls in professional courses, the current MahaDBT information specifies a family-income ceiling of ₹2.50 lakh for the particular post-matric scholarship scheme and provides maintenance allowances in addition to fee benefits.
2. SC / Neo-Buddhist Scholarship and Freeship
Eligible SC/Neo-Buddhist students can receive post-matric scholarship/freeship benefits. The MahaDBT scheme covers compulsory tuition and examination fees, subject to the applicable conditions. For professional courses, CAP admission is an important eligibility condition under the freeship scheme.
3. EBC / EWS – Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Scheme
The Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulkh Shishyavrutti Scheme is administered by the Directorate of Higher Education. It is intended for economically weaker students and includes eligible professional courses in government, aided and eligible unaided institutions. The scheme specifies a family annual income limit of up to ₹8 lakh, subject to the detailed conditions of the scheme.
4. Minority Scholarship
Eligible students belonging to notified minority communities—Muslim, Buddhist, Christian, Sikh, Parsi, Jain and Jewish communities—may be eligible for the Minority Development Department's professional/technical education scholarship.
The MahaDBT scheme provides a maximum benefit of ₹50,000 per annum or actual tuition and examination fees, whichever is less, subject to eligibility. The family/guardian annual income limit is ₹8 lakh, and Maharashtra domicile and admission/course conditions apply.

Applications are generally made online through the MahaDBT Portal. The portal provides a "Find Eligible Schemes" facility where students can enter their age, qualification, religion, caste category, annual family income and disability status to identify schemes for which they may be eligible.

For Post HSC Diploma Courses:
- Pharmacy pass in 10+2 examination (science academic stream) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics from a recognized institution in Maharashtra State.
- Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to the above examination from a recognized institution in Maharashtra State.

1. Eligibility Criteria for Admission
Admission to the First Year Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) programme shall be offered to candidates who fulfill the eligibility conditions prescribed by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Government of Maharashtra, Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), University of Mumbai, and other competent authorities from time to time.
1.1 Nationality
- The candidate must be a Citizen of India.
1.2 Educational Qualification
The candidate must have passed:
(1) Maharashtra State Candidature Candidates
- The candidate should be a citizen of India.
- The candidate should have passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent examination with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology as optional subjects individually; or
- Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examinations; and
- The candidate should have appeared in all the subjects and should obtain non zero score in MHT-CET 2026 conducted by the Competent Authority.
(2) All India Candidature Candidates
- The candidate should be a citizen of India.
- The candidate shall have passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent examination with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology as optional subjects individually; or
- Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examinations; and
- The candidate should obtain non zero positive score in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) or the candidate should have appeared in all the subjects in MHT-CET 2026 and should obtain non zero score in MHT-CET 2026 conducted by the Competent Authority.
- Provided that, preference shall be given to the candidate obtaining non zero positive score in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) over the candidates who obtained non zero score in MHT-CET 2026.

Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry), B. Pharmacy (3 Years duration)

Eligibility criteria for admission:
- For Maharashtra State Candidature Candidate and All India Candidature Candidate:
- The candidate should be a citizen of India.
- The candidate should have passed in D. Pharm. course from an Institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948 (8 of 1948); and
- Any other eligibility criteria and requirement declared from time to time by the appropriate authority as defined under the Act.
