For eligible OBC students pursuing professional courses, the MahaDBT scheme provides reimbursement of tuition and examination fees subject to the applicable rules. The current scheme also provides 100% tuition and examination fee benefit for eligible OBC girls under the applicable Government Resolution.

For OBC girls in professional courses, the current MahaDBT information specifies a family-income ceiling of ₹2.50 lakh for the particular post-matric scholarship scheme and provides maintenance allowances in addition to fee benefits.

Eligible SC/Neo-Buddhist students can receive post-matric scholarship/freeship benefits. The MahaDBT scheme covers compulsory tuition and examination fees, subject to the applicable conditions. For professional courses, CAP admission is an important eligibility condition under the freeship scheme.

The Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulkh Shishyavrutti Scheme is administered by the Directorate of Higher Education. It is intended for economically weaker students and includes eligible professional courses in government, aided and eligible unaided institutions. The scheme specifies a family annual income limit of up to ₹8 lakh, subject to the detailed conditions of the scheme.

Eligible students belonging to notified minority communities—Muslim, Buddhist, Christian, Sikh, Parsi, Jain and Jewish communities—may be eligible for the Minority Development Department's professional/technical education scholarship.

The MahaDBT scheme provides a maximum benefit of ₹50,000 per annum or actual tuition and examination fees, whichever is less, subject to eligibility. The family/guardian annual income limit is ₹8 lakh, and Maharashtra domicile and admission/course conditions apply.

Applications are generally made online through the MahaDBT Portal. The portal provides a "Find Eligible Schemes" facility where students can enter their age, qualification, religion, caste category, annual family income and disability status to identify schemes for which they may be eligible.
